When You Pray—No. 12
The prayers of the Bible often begin and end giving honor and praise to God, for He is worthy. Paul gave a beautiful doxology to end the doctrinal sections of his letter to the Romans: “Oh, the death of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God. … For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever!” (Romans 11:33–36). Again and again Paul ascribed praise and glory to God (for example, Romans 16:27; Galatians 1:5; Ephesians 3:21; Philippians 4:20; 1 Timothy 1:17; 2 Timothy 4:18).
